Our jersey hats and turbans have a gentle stretch and are sized for the most comfortable fit for the “average” size head, which is about 21-22 inches (55-56 cm).

Cotton gauze, rayon challis and cotton fabrics are adjustable to fit 21-25" (55-63.5 cm).

If your head is larger or smaller than that, please email us or call 916.801.8759.

Our products are manufactured on site in our California shop, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

To measure your head, place a soft tape measure in the center of your forehead and wrap it all the way around your head and covering your ears.

If you don’t have a tape measure, you can use a string or ribbon to wrap around your head, and then measure that against a ruler.

If you are measuring over your hair, be aware that your head measurement will be about ½ to 1 inch smaller without hair, depending on the thickness of your hair.

How to Care for Your Head Wear and Accessories

We do not use fabrics that require dry cleaning due to our concern for chemical sensitivity.  We recommend hand washing with unscented products made for delicate fabrics.

Rinse thoroughly, and roll the items into a towel for a few moments to absorb excess water.  Hang to dry.

As with any fine fabric accessory, gentle care is recommended.
Iron or steam as needed if the fabric wrinkles.

Hang to dry or machine dry the entire scarf on low heat with a towel in the dryer.

Flower headbands:  Hand wash gently, roll in a towel to absorb excess moisture, and allow to air dry.

Flower Accessories:
Washing is not recommended.  If a flower is flattened during shipping or storage, it can be revived by steaming or blowing with a blow dryer on warm setting held 6-12 inches from flower.

All the batiks, most jerseys and several solids are made of rayon - think of the touch of a lightweight beach sarong. It is soft, light, drapes beautifully and will feel comfortable all day. Rayon is highly absorbent and does not insulate body heat, making it ideal for hot or humid climates, and comfortable with hot flashes.

Cotton gauze and voile and lightweight, without being sheer, in a variety of colors for favorite basics in your wardrobe.  African Wax prints and other cotton prints have more thickness and body, like a tailored cotton shirt.  They are still cool and lightweight, and our clients love the extra volume for creating fuller styles.

These are a bio-based textile made from cellulose fiber by spinning reconstituted cellulose from beech trees. Modal is also a part of the rayon family.  All fabrics manufactured with cellulose (from bamboo, plant or tree pulps) are collectively called rayon.
